ABOUT Dilpasand (Coconut Bun) RECIPE

Dilpasand is one of the most delicious and yummy treats available in the popular bakeries in Chennai. Crispy and flaky on the outside, sweet and yummy bites of tutti fruity and coconut inside.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fresh shredded coconut - 2 Cups
  2. Sugar - 1 Cup or to taste
  3. cardamom powder - a pinch
  4. Nutmeg powder - a pinch
  5. Puff Pastry sheets or Frozen Paratha - 2
  6. Tutti Fruity - 1/4 Cup or to taste

Instructions

  1. Add shredded coconut to a pan and fry over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, mix well and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add cardamom powder, dry fruits, nutmeg and mix well.
  4. Add Tutti Fruity and mix well. Let it cool.
  5. Thaw puff pastry sheet or frozen paratha for 30 minutes, until it comes to room temperature.
  6. Cut paranthas in two rounds, one bigger and other little small in size. You can make any shape you want.
  7. Put stuffing over a parantha, spread evenly and place another piece of paratha over filling and seal its edges using a drop of water.
  8. Now bake over 180°C for 30 minutes and after 30 minutes turn off the oven and leave the tray inside for another 15 minutes.
