French Toast with Desi Tadka

Ingredients to make French Toast with Desi Tadka

  • Whole Meal Bread Slices:- 6 nos
  • potato:- 2 nos boiled and mashed
  • onion:- 1 finely chopped
  • tomato:- 1 finely chopped
  • turmeric powder;- 1tsp
  • chilly powder:- 1 tbsp
  • Asafetida (hing):- 1/2 tsp
  • butter for toasting in pan or tawa
  • Cummin Seeds:- 1 tsp
  • salt:- as per your taste
  • sugar:- 1tsp
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • egg:2 Nos
  • coriander leaves:- handful chopped finely

How to make French Toast with Desi Tadka

  1. For Masala mashed potato:-
  2. Heat butter or ghee in a pan add cummin seeds, hing and fry for 3 secs add onion and fry until it turns nice brown in color, add tomato, salt and sugar stir nicely cover the lid and cook until tomato turns mushy
  3. Add turmeric powder,chilly powder and stir for 3 sec and add potato, coriander leaves and mix until potato incorporates with all masala
  4. Remove from stove and set aside and do not switch off stove as we need to continue toasting bread in another pan
  5. Heat tawa or pan spread some butter, meanwhile mix your egg, milk, salt and sugar beat nicely until you see bubbles on top
  6. Take one bread slice spread masala mashed potato nicely spreading every corner of bread, dip this bread in egg batter and place it in tawa and cook in low flame, flip other side and cook for few minute press softly with the help of spatula
  7. Cook in a low flame flipping continuously to both side to make our bread little crispy
  8. Serve hot with tea

My Tip:

This toast taste so good without anything on the side, if you want you can use ketchup
