Chilli paneer

Ingredients to make Chilli paneer

  • 250 gms paneer
  • 10 garlic cloves paste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • Besan(chick pea flour)
  • salt to taste
  • 3 diced onions
  • 2 diced capsicums
  • Tomato, chilli & soya sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar(optional)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornflour

How to make Chilli paneer

  1. Cut the paneer into block sized pieces
  2. Marinate the pieces with the garlic paste, pepper and chilli flakes and keep it aside for 15-20 mins
  3. Make a thick paste of besan(chick pea flour ), put some salt and add the paneer pieces to it to make a coating around the pieces.
  4. Heat olive oil in pan and fry the coated pieces in it till it turns golden brown
  5. Remove the excess oil from the pan after frying and keep only around 2-3 tablespoons.
  6. Add some chopped garlic in the hot oil, fry it till they turn golden brown
  7. Add the diced onions and some salt, fry it till it turns translucent.
  8. Now add the capsicum to the above and cook it till it turns soft.
  9. Now add some freshly ground pepper.
  10. Add the fried paneer pieces to it and mix it well.
  11. Now mix tomato, chilli and soya sauce in a bowl and add water to it to make a thin mixture. You can increase or decrease the quantity of each sauce depending on your taste.
  12. Add 1/2 teaspoon of cornflour to the sauce mixture, mix well and add it to the paneer. The sauce should coat all the paneer well.
  13. Mix all of above nicely and it's ready to serve
