One of the favourite chat dishes of any Bangalorean would be 'Masala Puri'. Masala Puri - Crushed crisp puris (home made), served with piping hot green peas curry, onion, tomato, coriander leaves and spice garnishing.
Add some oil in a cooker, add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once the mustard seeds crackle add the onion slices and fry till light golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute. Add tomato pieces and fry till it gets soft. Add the spices and the green peas. Fry for a minute or two.
Add sufficient water as we need slightly thin gravy. Pressure Cook for 5 to 6 whistle or till peas are cooked soft.
For assembling the Masala puri. In a wide cup crush few puris. Add the gravy
Garnish with fine onion cubes, tomato cubes, some finely cut coriander leaves
Add a pinch of salt, red chilly powder, zeera/ cumin powder and garam masala powder. Finally with some thin sev.
Serve immediately when the gravy is hot and puris are crisp.
