ABOUT Maggi Savory Smoky Cake RECIPE

Maggi Savory smoky cake is one of my favourite recipe which my mother made as a biryani and we loved to eat them.She made it with leftover veggies and chicken masala. But here I do some changes in it by adding cheese and with some changes.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For 2 Cakes, 4 packets Maggi with taste maker
  2. 2 bay leaves, 2 star anise, 2 cinnamon stick
  3. salt to taste, few drops of oil to drizzle in water
  4. 2 pinch of orange food colour
  5. For Gravy, 400 gm chicken
  6. 1 onion cut in medium size piece
  7. 5-8 garlic cloves chopped
  8. 1 inch ginger piece chopped
  9. 1/4 cup capsicum cut in stripes
  10. 3-4 baby corn cut in stripes
  11. 1 and 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  12. 1/2 tsp all spice powder
  13. 2-3 Maggi taste maker
  14. 2-3 tsp Tabasco sauce
  15. 1/2 cup tomato puree
  16. 2 tsp tomato sauce
  17. 1 tsp sugar
  18. 1 and 1/2 tsp Kasuri methi
  19. 4 cheese slice
  20. salt to taste, oil for cooking
  21. A piece of coal and 1 tsp butter or desi ghee for smoky flavour

Instructions

  1. Boil water separately in two pans with adding bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, drizzle some oil and add salt and in another boiling water add orange food colour.
  2. Now in this boiling water add 2 Maggi packet (without tastemaker), like this also add 2 Maggi packet (without tastemaker) in coloured water. When it slightly cooks separate it in iced cold water and drizzle some oil in this also, when cold strain these with strainer and keep it aside.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan add onion, when translucent add chopped ginger and garlic in it and roast it, when pleasant smell comes add tomato puree in it and simmer it for few mins
  4. When gravy's consistency is less, add capsicum and baby corn cook for a min and add chilli powder, salt, tastemaker and mix well.
  5. Now add sugar, tomato sauce, tabasco sauce and Kasuri methi one by one and simmer it to a consistency of slightly dry. Finally add all spice powder and after a min switch of the gas.
  6. Now arrange boiled Maggi, step by step like traditional biryani, place 1-1 cheese slice in between white and orange coloured Maggi layer, place dry masala chicken layer over it
  7. Now bake it in 180*c preheated oven for cheese to melt and it will be ready to serve.
  8. For smoky flavour, burn a piece of coal on gas, place a small bowl over the arranged cake and keep the burned coal in this bowl, drizzle butter over it and immediately cover it to lock the smell.
  9. After one and a half min open it and serve it with french fries for more taste.
