ABOUT Kolkata misti doi ( sweet curd) RECIPE

Misti doi is served as dessert at end of a Bengali meal. A delicious and rich sweet curd which is one of the most tastiest Indian dessert.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Full fat milk - 2 liter
  2. Sour curd - 100 gm
  3. Sugar - 2 cups or as per taste
  4. Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  5. Cornflour - 1/2 tbsp
  6. Caramel sugar syrup - 1 tbsp for colour and flavour

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk and reduce to make one into half ltr.
  2. Add sugar and again boil for 10 minutes
  3. Add cornflour with little cold milk and add to the boiling milk. Milk will become little thick.
  4. Keep aside to cool.
  5. Add curd and caramel sugar syrup in warm milk and pour in the mud pot or any other dish.
  6. Keep in warm place to set. It will take 5 to 6 hours.
  7. Once set keep in the fridge and serve cold.
