It is a famous chicken curry from Bengal. Chicken is cooked in yogurt gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken - 400 gms
  2. Yogurt - 1 cup
  3. Onion paste - 2/3 cup
  4. Garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
  5. Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
  6. Green chilli paste - 1 teaspoon
  7. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  8. Green cardamom - 3 to 4
  9. Bay leaf - 1
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Sugar - 1 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Mustard oil - 3 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli paste and curd for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan and throw bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom in the oil.
  3. After that add the marinated chicken, cover it and cook it under low flame.
  4. Cook almost 10 to 15 minutes and add sugar and salt to taste.
  5. Stir it in between and if required add water.
  6. After 10 minutes when the meat comes out from the bones, switch off gas and doi murgi is ready to serve.
