Traditional recipe of Rajasthan, very spicy and tasty. It helps the persons who are on protein restricted diet because maize flour has no protein.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Maize flour (makai ka atta) 1/2 cup
  2. Wheat flour 3 tablespoons
  3. Onion 1 chopped finely
  4. Tomato 1 chopped finely
  5. Green chilli 2 chopped finely
  6. Coriander chopped 3 tablespoons
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Jeera 1 teaspoon
  9. Ghee 5 tablespoon
  10. Curd 2 tablespoons
  11. Water for making dough

Instructions

  1. Mix both flours properly.
  2. Mix chopped onion, tomato, coriander and green chilli.
  3. Now put half of this onion mixture into flour. And add salt, jeera, curd and 1 tablespoon ghee.
  4. Mix this properly with the help of fingers. Make a fine smooth dough if needed with the help of water.
  5. Heat the tawa and make ball from this dough and flatten it, and make small chapati with the help of roller pin.
  6. Now put remaining half onion mixture on chapati as topping. And then again roll it and make a big chapati.
  7. Roll it as to topping set on the top.
  8. Now carefully take this and put on hot tawa.
  9. When one side is cooked turn it and apply ghee on both sides after cooking on both sides.
  10. Cook it on medium flame. So that it becomes crispy.
  11. Your tikkad is ready. Remove it from tawa and serve this with white butter or curd or any pickle of your choice.
