Ingredients to make French yogurt cake

  • all purpose flour 1 1/2 cup, plus more for dusting
  • Full fat greek yogurt 1 cup
  • sugar 1 cup
  • Vegetable oil 1/2 Cup
  • eggs 2
  • Finely grated lemon jest 1 tablespoon
  • Baking powder 2 teaspoon
  • Kosher salt 3/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon
  • Non stick vegetable oil spray

How to make French yogurt cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree
  2. Coat pan with vegetable oil spray, dust with flour and tap out excess.
  3. Sift flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl
  4. In another bowl take sugar and lemon zest
  5. Using your fingers rub sugar with lemon zest until sugar becomes moist
  6. Add yogurt, oil, eggs and vanilla extract.
  7. Whisk to mix all together
  8. Now add in the dry ingredients and gently fold the batter
  9. Pour the batter into prepared pan and bake for 55 minutes
  10. Let it cool completely
  11. Slice and enjoy

My Tip:

Oven temperature varies so keep an eye after 40 minutes. Check by inserting a toothpick at the center of the cake.If it comes out clean it is done.
