Ingredients to make Kanda poha

  • 1 cup thick poha
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp haldi powder
  • 1 tsp mustard seed
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 boiled potato diced
  • 1/4 cup peanuts
  • curry leaves
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • salt as per taste.
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • coriander finely chopped

How to make Kanda poha

  1. Rinse the poha in water till they soften.
  2. Now add sugar, turmeric powder and salt to the poha and gently mix
  3. Dry roast the peanuts in a pan till they become crunchy
  4. Heat oil in pan crackle the mustard seeds and jeera. Then add onion and sauté them till they become translucent. Then add curry leaves and green chillies and boiled potato sauté them. Add the peanuts and then add poha and stir .
  5. Cover and steam the poha for 2 minutes on a low flame..
  6. Remove the lid and sprinkle some lemon juice and coriander leaves. Kanda poha is ready to eat.
