Instant Idli which can be made in jiffy and taste yumm

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rava- 1 cup
  2. Curd- 1 cup
  3. Green chillies- 4 nos
  4. Ginger– 2 tsp
  5. Salt- 1 tsp
  6. Hing – 1 tsp
  7. Eno lemon salt – 1 sachet
  8. Curry leaves, coriander leaves a sprig
  9. Cumin Seeds- 1tTsp
  10. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  11. Crushed pepper- 1 tsp
  12. Cashew nuts – 4-5 nos


  1. Take a pan and dry roast the rava lightly for 1 min. Transfer it to a large bowl.
  2. Add the mix vegetables, green peas, curd, salt, coriander leaves, water -1 glass to it, mix well. The consistency should be like our dosa batter. Keep aside.
  3. Now in a pan heat oil or ghee, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pepper, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, hing, cashew nuts chopped. Saute it for 2 mins then add this to the rava mixture. Mix well .
  4. Keep the Idli pot with water to boil once the water starts boiling.
  5. Now check the Rava Idli batter…it might have become thick so add little more water if necessary and bring to a dosa batter consistency to this now add Eno Fruit salt, mix well and pour it to the Idli moulds
  6. Steam it for 10-15 mins. Check inserting a knife , if it comes plain then the Rava Idlis are fully cooked.
  7. Serve them hot with Coconut chutney or Vegetable kurma. Can be eaten plain with a drizzle of Ghee
