Punjabi kadhi is little spicy kadhi in which pakoras are simmered and it's very tasty. This recipe I have learnt from my friend's mom.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup bengal gram dal flour
  2. 1 cup sour curd
  3. Salt
  4. 2 tbsp ginger chilli paste
  5. 4 onions grated
  6. 3 cups water
  7. half tbsp cooking soda
  8. 1 cup fenugreek leaves
  9. Pinch asafoetida
  10. 2 tbsp ghee
  11. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  12. 1 Cinnamon
  13. 1 bay leaf
  14. Coriander leaves
  15. Oil for frying pakoras

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix bengal gram dal flour, add onions, salt, fenugreek leaves, ginger chilli paste, little water and mix well.
  2. Add soda and mix well, make sure water should not be runny.
  3. Now make pakoras and fry in hot oil and set aside.
  4. In broad pan take curd, besan and add 2 cups water, blend it properly.
  5. Add salt and keep stirring on low flame.
  6. Add green chillies
  7. Keep boiling upto 15 mins and stirring too.
  8. Keep stirring upto 12 min more at last add pakoras and let it simmer 5 mins and switch off flame, garnish with coriander.
