A healthy and nutritious soup which is made from peas and cream, which can ne be enjoyed during chilly mornings or evenings

Pea Soup

Ingredients to make Pea Soup

  • green peas 350 grams
  • carrot 120 grams
  • 1 medium onion
  • vegetable stock or water 750 ml
  • milk 300 ml
  • refined flour 30 grams (maida)
  • butter 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • mint leaves (optional)

How to make Pea Soup

  1. Shell peas, grate carrots and onions. Cook vegetables in cold vegetable stock.
  2. In a pan heat butter and add flour. Stir well. Gradually add milk to form a white sauce and keep aside.
  3. When the vegetables are tender, sieve it to make a vegetable puree. Mix the White sauce with vegetable puree.
  4. Add little bit of water so that the consistency is not too thick and bring it to boil. Add seasoning.
  5. Serve hot, Garnished with mint leaves
