Chicken Gravy is flavored with Indian spices and best with plain rice or basmati rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. chicken medium size pieced- 1/2 kg
  2. salt 1 tsp
  3. 1 cup yogurt
  4. 2 onions sliced
  5. 1/2 tsp of ginger chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp of garlic chopped
  7. 1/2 tsp of red chilli paste
  8. 2 tomato chopped
  9. 4-5 cardamoms
  10. 1 inch stick of cinnamon
  11. 1 tsp of dry kasoori methi
  12. 2 bay leaf
  13. 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
  14. 6 tsp of oil


  1. Marinate chicken with yogurt and chilli powder and keep aside.
  2. Heat a pan with 3 tsp oil and fry the onions, ginger, garlic, tomatoes till it gets soft and tender.
  3. Now transfer these all onion, garlic, tomatoes in a grinder with kasoori meethi, cinnamon, cardamom and little water. Make a smooth paste.
  4. In a sperate kadai heat oil and fry 1 onion sliced. Add the marinated chicken and cook it for 10 mins. Now add the onion paste and 2 cups of water and cook it for 10 more mins.
  5. Serve it hot with rice or naan.
