Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  2. tomato puree - 1 1/4 cup or 3 tbsp
  3. coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  4. red kidney beans - 1/2 kg
  5. turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  6. red chili powder - 2 tsp or to taste
  7. pav bhaji masala - 1 tsp
  8. salt to taste
  9. cumin - 1 tsp
  10. garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. veg oil - 2 tbsp
  12. coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak the beans for 6 to 8 hours, then cook in a cooker for 10 minutes with 1 tsp salt and water.
  2. Dish out the beans and drain the water, heat the oil in a heavy bottom pan. Pop the cumin then saute ginger-garlic paste for 2 minutes.
  3. Add tomato puree, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, pav-bhaji masala and turmeric. Cook it for 5 minutes.
  4. Add 1/2 cup water and cook the masala till oil separates, add beans and water as required then boil it for 5 minute, turn off the heat.
  5. Add garam masala and garnish with coriander. Serve hot with boiled rice.
