Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana dal - 4 Tbsp
  2. Cabbage - 1 small grated
  3. Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
  4. For the Tadka :
  5. rai - 1 to 2 tsp
  6. 4 to 5 - Curry Leaves
  7. 1/3 tsp - Asafoetida / Hing powder
  8. Green Chillies - 1 to 2
  9. 1 tsp - Haldi powder
  10. salt to taste
  11. olive oil/ghee as required
  12. Lime juice (optional)
  13. Coriander leaves fresh

Instructions

  1. Soak chana dal/Bengal gram for 2 - 3 hours. Drain and grind coarse.
  2. Mix cabbage (patta gobhi), dal paste & coconut.
  3. Heat oil in a small pan, add rai seeds, hing powder, green chillies, curry leaves and Haldi powder.
  4. Add all this tadka to dal cabbage mix and let it cook for a few minutes, add salt and lime juice, if using.
  5. Serve hot after garnishing it with coriander leaves
