ABOUT Instant Rava Dosa RECIPE

Crispy and golden dosas in a jiffy! No soaking, no grinding and no fermenting!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup - semolina (sooji/rava)
  2. 1 1/2 cups - rice flour
  3. 1/4 cup - refined flour (maida)
  4. 1/2 cup - curd
  5. 1 - green chilly
  6. 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  7. 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  8. 1 1/2 - 2 cups - water
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1/4 cup - oil

Instructions

  1. Place semolina, rice flour and refined flour in a bowl.
  2. Add curd, salt and water to it and mix using a whisk.
  3. Add cumin seeds and let this batter stand for about 45 minutes.
  4. Finely chop the green chilly and add it to the batter just before you start making the dosas.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. When hot, add the mustard seeds. Once the seeds splutter, then add it to the batter and mix.
  6. Heat a dosa gridle (tawa). Since the batter will be thinner than that of normal dosa, pour the batter from the edge and let it flow to the center. Pour a tsp of oil along the edges. Once it cooks on one side, flip it and cook the other side.
  7. Serve hot with tomato chutney or any other chutney.
