ABOUT Vatidaal khaman RECIPE

Vatidaal khaman are made from Bengal gram dal. It is tasty and healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 gms Bengal gram dal (chanadal) soaked 5 hours .
  2. 1 small bowl buttermilk
  3. Salt as per taste
  4. 1 pack eno fruit salt
  5. 1 tsp ginger chilli paste
  6. 100 gms oil
  7. 3 tbsp mustard seeds
  8. 8 green chillies chopped
  9. Few coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Grind soaked chana dal, add buttermilk and keep in sunlight for 4 hours to ferment .
  2. Add salt, ginger chilli paste, fruit salt and mix well batter if required add water but batter should not be runny
  3. Grease a plate with 2 tbsp oil and add batter till dish is filled batter
  4. Keep it in dhokla steamer for 15 mins
  5. Remove the plate from steamer.
  6. Heat oil in wok, add mustard seeds and green chillies and when it crackles temper on the khaman plate. Now cut it and garnish with coriander and serve it .
