Channa Sundal

Ingredients to make Channa Sundal

  • Channa- 1 cup
  • coconut - 3 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • Lime/ lemon juice - 2 tsp
  • green chillies - 1 , chopped
  • coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, chopped
  • mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 4 tbsp
  • asafoetida / Hing - 1 tsp
  • curry leaves - few leaves
  • Split channa dal - 1 tsp

How to make Channa Sundal

  1. Soak channa 2 hours. Then cook in the pressure cooker with enough water.
  2. In a wok/ kadai, heat oil
  3. Add mustard seeds, allow to splutter, add channa dal then add asafoetida, curry leaves.
  4. Add cooked channa mix well, add salt , coconut, salt
  5. Stir well, switch off the flame, add lime juice and sprinkle coriander leaves. Serve
