Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. White pumpkin - 2 cups, chopped
  2. Red chori - 1/4 cup
  3. Cooked toor dal - 1 cup
  4. Coconut - 2 tbsp
  5. Sambar powder - 2 tsp
  6. Rasam powder - 2 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Tamarind pulp/ juice - 1 tbsp
  9. Jaggery - 1/2 tsp
  10. Curry leaves - few
  11. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  12. Asafoetida/ Hing - 1/2 tsp
  13. Oil - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Remove green outer part of pumpkin and chop white pumpkin. Cook in a pan, add 2 cups of water with a pinch of salt, cook until tender
  2. In a pressure pan add toor dal and red chori, add 1 cup water and cook until 3 whistle. Turn off the gas
  3. In a pumkin cooked pan, add dal and chori /sprout saute
  4. Add rasam powder, curry leaves, salt , jaggery, tamarind saute again bring to boil on low flame
  5. In a mixer add coconut and sambar powder and little water and make a smooth paste
  6. Add paste into sambar, saute bring boil for few mins
  7. In a pan add oil , then add mustard seeds and hing. Pour into sambar and serve with hot plain rice with ghee
