ABOUT Kokum Sharbat.. RECIPE

Its a famous drink in Konkan/ Goa side, which is very refreshing and a natural coolant for our body. It is also best remedy for pitta dosha as well as rich in vitamin C. So do surely enjoy this cool drink this summer.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. kokum 1 cup
  2. sugar 2 cup
  3. Black salt as per taste
  4. cumin powder as per taste
  5. water as needed


  1. Rinse kokum properly and soak in warm water for 15-20 mins.
  2. When kokum turns soft, grind and make its paste by adding some kokum water itself.
  3. Now take sugar in a pan, add 2 cups water, boil it till it becomes bit thicker (chasni).
  4. Let this sugar syrup get cooled and then add kokum mixture, salt, cumin powder and mix it properly.
  5. Now strain the whole mixture with the help of sieve and store it in an air tight jar, keep in your refrigerator.
  6. While serving add 2-3 tbsp, few ice cubes in 1 glass of water, stir and serve chilled.
