Chinta chiguru Pappu is a tangy tasty dal made with the tender tamarind leaves.Tender tamarind leaves dal or chinta chiguru pappu is a common dish from the Andhra cuisine and is mildly spiced. Goes well with rice, chapati or roti.It is a good antioxidant and helps for good blood circulation.This is the best remedy for worms in children.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Toor dal 1cup
  2. Tender tamarind leaves 1 cup
  3. Garlic cloves ,peeled 2 tsp
  4. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  5. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  6. Hing powder 1 tsp
  7. Methi seeds 1/2 tsp
  8. Dry red chilli 1
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil 2 tsp
  11. Jeera seeds 1 tsp
  12. Pinch of turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. Select fresh tamarind leaves and clean them well.
  2. Pressure cook dal for 4-5 whistle.
  3. In a deep pan, pour boiled Toor dal and tamarind tree leaves.
  4. Mash the dal well.
  5. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix it well.Cook till everything blends well.
  6. Temper with garlic, mustard seeds, Hing, red chillies, jeera seeds and methi seeds.
  7. Amazing tangy dal is ready to serve.
