Fried vada made of cucumber and chana dal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana dal 1 cup
  2. Cucumber 1 very finely chopped
  3. onion 1 small very finely chopped
  4. Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
  5. Green chilly 1
  6. Ginger 1 small piece
  7. Red chilly powder 1/2 Teaspoon
  8. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Mint leaves chopped 8-10
  10. Coriander leaves chopped handful
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak chana dal in lukewarm water for about 2 hours.
  2. Drain water completely and grind this dal coarsely without water, along with green chilly &ginger.
  3. Add turmeric powder , red chilly powder , lemon juice ,onion, cucumber, salt, mint leaves and coriander leaves.
  4. Mix well and make small rounds, flatten it and deep fry in hot oil till brown and crisp.
  5. Serve with ketchup
