    Apple Pie

    Ingredients to make Apple Pie

    • 1 cup flour ( All purpose or Maida)
    • 1/2 Cup butter( Cold butter)
    • 4-5 tbsp Ice cold water
    • 2 apples (Red )
    • 1 tspn cinnamon Powder
    • 3-4 Tbspn honey
    • Pinch of Salt and sugar

    How to make Apple Pie

    1. For the Dough- Combine all dry ingredients (flour , sugar & salt )along with butter and mix it well until is resembles coarse crumbs (you can use the food processor too)
    2. Now add few drops of vinegar and add the ice cold water ( add one spoon at a time to have the right consistency).You don't need to knead it like a dough, add enough water until the mixture holds together.
    3. Now wrap it in clingfilm and allow the dough to rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 mins ( its good if you can leave it for more time).
    4. Cut the apples into thin slices.
    5. In a pan add 1/2 tspn butter and saute the apple slices.
    6. Now add honey ( you can substitute with caramel sauce ) and the apples cook for few mins and then allow it to cool.
    7. Pre-heat the cooker on a medium flame ( please remove the whistle and the rubber ring while heating it).
    8. Remove the dough and roll it enough to cover the vessel you choose to make the pie. Trim the extra dough from the edges.
    9. Add the apple mixture in the tray.
    10. Roll the remaining dough and cut into strips. Now cover the tray in a criss cross way using the strips.
    11. Fold over the edges . Brush some butter on the top.
    12. Now place the tray in the cooker and let it cook of low flame for around 30 mins.

    My Tip:

    Its super easy, just be patient with the dough . Can do variations with the sauce for apples. I just wanted to try the traditional American Apple pie.
