My grandmother's after school delights that everyone with a sweet tooth would love to have over and over again.

  1. Whole wheat - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 2 times the measure of wheat milk extracted
  3. Ghee - 2 times the measure of wheat milk extracted
  4. Cardomom powder - 2 spoons.

Instructions

  1. Soak wheat overnight in water. Grind the soaked wheat and extract the milk from the ground mixture using a seive. Measure the milk quantifying them in number of cups.
  2. Measure double the quantity of sugar as the quantity of wheat milk extracted. In a deep think bottomed, boil the sugar until it reaches thread consistency.
  3. Add the wheat milk and keep stirring continuously until the mixture solidifies and leaves the sides of the pan. Add cardomom powder.
  4. Add ghee using a ladle until all of it is absorbed in the mixture. Keep stirring continuously. At one stage, the ghee will start oozing out of the mixture.
  5. Grease a plate with ghee and pour the mixture. Allow to cool and then cut into squares or diamond shaped slices. Serve garnished with fried cashew nuts.
