Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Channa dal 1 cup
  2. tomato 1
  3. onion 1
  4. Garam masala 1 spoon
  5. chilli powder 1 spoon
  6. Pinch of turmeric powder
  7. Curry leaves
  8. coriander leaves
  9. oil
  10. salt to taste
  11. Bay leaf,star anise,cinnamon, fennel seeds
  12. Dry red chilli 1
  13. ginger garlic paste 1 spoon
  14. asafoetida a pinch


  1. Soak channa Dal in water for 3 hrs
  2. Grind dry chilli, asafoetida , 1/4 spoon of fennel seeds, salt, Channa Dal to a coarse paste.
  3. Heat oil for frying
  4. Fry the Channa Dal mixture like pakora.
  5. In pan add two spoons of oil curry leaves, bay leaf, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon &star anise
  6. Add onion, tomato, ginger garlic paste add some salt once it gets cooked add garam marsala, turmeric, and chili powder
  7. Add some water and allow it to boil for 10 Mins.
  8. Then add fried Channa Dal balls, cook for 10 mins.
  9. Garnish with coriander and serve.
