ABOUT Instant Sandwich Bread With Red Lentils RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup red lentils
  2. 2 pinch baking soda
  3. 1/8tsp rock salt
  4. 1tsp olive oil
  5. Toppings and veggies of your choice
  6. 2tbsp hung curd
  7. 1/2 cup water (enough to make batter)
  8. 2 pinch black pepper
  9. Cumin seeds, sesame seeds, coriander leaves or herbs of your choice
  10. Apple cider vinegar/normal vinegar/lime juice- few drops

Instructions

  1. Soak lentils for 2-3 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked dal.
  3. Let the batter rest on the countertop covered for an hour.
  4. Preheat oven at 170 degrees for 10 mins.
  5. Add salt and spices of your choice to the batter.
  6. Add baking soda and a few drops of vinegar just before baking.
  7. Prepare toppings. I have used grated turnip, 1 chopped spring onion, and added green peas. Pour Greek yogurt over the batter and mix with salt, black pepper, and oil.
  8. Grease a baking pan. Sprinkle sesame seeds all over it.
  9. Pour the batter into the pan and add the toppings.
  10. Bake for 20-25 mins or until a skewer comes out clean.
