Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rajma/Kidney beans 4 tablespoon
  2. onion finely chopped 1
  3. tomato finely chopped 4 to 5
  4. turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  6. coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  7. salt to taste
  8. mustard oil 1 tablespoon
  9. jeera 1 teaspoon
  10. cloves 4 to 5
  11. Black pepper corns 10 to 12
  12. ginger 1 inch peice
  13. garlic peeled 4 to 7 cloves


  1. Wash rajma and soak in water at least for 5 to 6 hours
  2. Add salt and pressure cook rajma for 4 to 5 whistles
  3. Make paste of onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, cloves, and black pepper corns
  4. Heat oil in a pan, crackle jeera
  5. When jeera splutters, add turmeric, red chilly, and coriander powder
  6. Sauté for few seconds and add prepared paste
  7. Sauté paste till oil separates
  8. Add boiled and cooked rajma to sauteed masala and mix well
  9. Adjust the consistency by adding some water and allow it to boil for next 5 minutes on low heat (cook covered)
  10. Rajma Curry is ready to serve with rice,pulka, nan or paratha
