Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong dal-2 cups
  2. Gobindobhog rice-2cups
  3. Whole garam masala
  4. Garam Masala powder
  5. Bay leaves-4
  6. Salt and sugar as per taste
  7. Haldi-1 tsp
  8. Tomato-2
  9. Jeera powder-2 tbsp
  10. Dhaniya powder-2 tbsp
  11. Ghee-4 tbsp
  12. Whole jeera-1 tbsp
  13. Water-8 cups
  14. Potato-4 medium
  15. Cauliflower florets-12

Instructions

  1. Shallow fry the dal and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan add ghee and mustard oil.Fry the potatoes and cauliflower and keep aside.
  3. In the same pan add mustard oil and ghee and add the whole garam masala.
  4. Let it splutter.then add the dhania, jeera powder and Haldi mixed in a little water.
  5. Soon after, add the tomatoes.
  6. Cook till the raw smell is gone.
  7. Then add the dal and rice.
  8. Keep stirring so that it doesn't stick to the pan.
  9. Mix well and add the salt and sugar.
  10. Keep stirring till oil leaves the sides.
  11. Then add the fried potatoes and cauliflower.
  12. Add 8 cups of water to a pressure cooker.
  13. Transfer the entire mix into it.
  14. Cook it for 3 whistles.
  15. Once done, sprinkle garam masala powder and ghee.
