ABOUT Kaala Chana Sundal RECIPE

Healthy, festive, semi dry recipe using horse gram.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. oil - 1 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/4tsp
  3. Cumin seeds -1/4tsp
  4. Hing - Pinch
  5. Karipatta - 10,12
  6. Soaked overnight and boiled kale chana- 100gms
  7. Salt to taste
  8. coriander powder - 2 tbsp
  9. Fine chopped green chilies - 1
  10. Dhania patta
  11. grated fresh coconut - 1/4 cup
  12. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat oil crackle cumin and mustard seeds and add curry leaves and hing.
  2. Saute green chilies and add Kala chana.
  3. Add salt dhania powder mix well.
  4. Cook for 10 -15 mins till mixture thickens. Can add water in between in little quantity if it dries.
  5. In the end add grated coconut, dhania seeds and mix well.
  6. Switch off the flame add lemon juice according to taste and serve.
