ABOUT Methi Muthia RECIPE

A light snack or Farsan as Gujaratis call it.Bengal gram/chana dal - besan wheat and Methi or fenugreek leaves with good seasoning make it a delicious a healthy snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1cup Wheat flour
  2. 1 tbsp Rava
  3. 1 cup besan
  4. 1 fresh bunch Methi leaves
  5. 1-2 Green chillies
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 1 tsp cumin powder
  8. 1/2tsp red chilli Kashmiri powder
  9. 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  10. 1 tsp sugar
  11. 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  12. Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Take wheat flour to knead make a well in centre and keep aside
  2. Clean methi take leaves only no stems, wash and chop fine
  3. Now add the chopped methi leaves and all seasoning to the well made in wheat flour
  4. Add besan, rava now and salt to taste
  5. Add 2 - 3 tablespoon oil too
  6. Start kneading, add little water to keep flour tight
  7. Now make long thickish snakes of this
  8. Heat water in a kadhai boil and add a tsp of oil to this too.
  9. Now add the besan snakes to the boiling water
  10. Boil for ten minutes
  11. Check with fork when done will not stick , remove now and cut out pieces of the desired shape
  12. Heat oil now in kadhai and start frying these on medium flame to high
  13. Remove when golden brown and crisp
  14. Serve hot with sweet chutney or ketchup
