ABOUT Stuffed Dal Dhokli RECIPE

Spinach and corn stuffed in Dhokli with dal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong split dal 1 cup
  2. Tuvar/Toor Dal 1/2 cup
  3. Chana dal 1/4 cup
  4. Wheat flour 2 cup
  5. Spinach blanched 1 cup
  6. Boiled corn 1/4 cup
  7. Red chilli powder 2tsp
  8. Dhania powder 2tsp
  9. Haldi powder 1/2tsp
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. Oil 2tsp
  12. Green chilly 2 crushed
  13. curry leaves
  14. Tomato 1 chopped
  15. Cumin seeds 1tsp
  16. Mustard seed 1tsp
  17. Lemon juice 1tsp

Instructions

  1. Mix dal and soak for half an hour
  2. Take wheat flour in a big plate add red chilli powder, dhania powder, Haldi powder, salt, and oil.
  3. Knead a soft dough by adding water
  4. Pressure cook dal for 4 whistle
  5. Mix corn and spinach with one crushed green chilly, salt, two cubes of grated cheese.Keep it aside.
  6. Make balls of the prepared dough.
  7. Roll it little with rolling pin
  8. Add little spinach stuffing and seal it
  9. Prepare all the Dhoklis like these
  10. Now steam them for 20 minutes
  11. In a small pan add oil followed by cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, chopped tomatoes.
  12. Add all dry spice powders, salt and cook for few minutes.
  13. Switch off and add lemon juice
  14. Add this to boiled dal
  15. Cook the dal for some time till all masala blends up well.
  16. Now our steamed Dhokli is ready
  17. For serving, in a place first, pour dal then place the steamed Dhokli, keep a papad over it garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
