    Ingredients to make Black-Eyed Beans Masala Curry ( Lobia Masala Curry )

    • 100 gm - Black-Eyed Beans ( soaked overnight )
    • 1 - tomato (Large)
    • 1 - onion
    • 1tbs - ginger Garlic Paste
    • 1 - Green Chili
    • 1tsp - cumin Powder
    • 1tsp - coriander Powder
    • 1/2tsp - turmeric Powder
    • 1tsp - Kashmiri Chili Powder
    • 1/4tsp - Garam masala Powder
    • 1/6th- tsp cumin Seeds
    • 1tsp - salt
    • 2tbs - ghee
    • 2 Cups - water

    How to make Black-Eyed Beans Masala Curry ( Lobia Masala Curry )

    1. Pressure cook the lobia with 1 cup of water for 8-10 whistles or until soft and cooked.
    2. In a mixer grinder, grind tomato, onion, green chilli, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, Kashmiri chili powder, 1/2tsp salt with 1/4 cup water to a smooth paste.
    3. In a kadhai/pan heat 2tbs ghee. Add cinnamon sticks and cumin seeds and fry until fragrant
    4. Now add the ground paste and cook until the oil separates then add the lobia and mix well. Add the water from cooker that is remaking after boiling the lobia and cook for 8-10mins in low flame. Add little more water if required for the gravy.
    5. Sprinkle garam masala, stir well, cover kadai with a lid and switch off the gas. Let it sit for 5-7mins. Serve hot with rice or paratha.

    My Tip:

    Add 1tsp ghee before serving.
