Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pigeon Pea Dal - 200 gm
  2. Wheat Flour - - 200 gm
  3. Boiled Potato - 2
  4. Salt - As per taste
  5. Chopped Green Chili- 2 tsp
  6. Chopped Garlic- 2 tsp
  7. Chopped Coriander - 2 tsp
  8. Red Chili - 1 tsp
  9. Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
  10. Amchoor Powder - 1 tsp
  11. Whole Red ChIli - 2
  12. Oil- 4 tbsp
  13. Desi Ghee- 2 tbsp
  14. Coriander Powder- 1 tsp
  15. Cumin Seed - 1 tsp
  16. Curry Leaves - 4-5

Instructions

  1. Wash and boil the Dal with salt and turmeric powder.
  2. To make the dough - Add salt, 1 tsp ghee to the wheat flour and kneed well. Cover with damp cloth and let it rest for sometime.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seed. When they crackle add chopped potato and saute it for 2-3 min. Add salt, red chilly powder, amchoor powder, coriander powder, chopped ginger, and mix well. Turn off the flame. Add chopped coriander and let it cool down.
  4. Take a small ball of dough and roll it out like roti. With a cutter or a round lid cut circles. Repeat with the rest of the dough. Make small dim sums from these circles filled with potato mixture. Seal the sides by pinching with fingers.
  5. Add these dim sums in the cooked dal and cook it for sometime. (5-6 minutes)
  6. Temper the dal with curry leaves and garlic fried in desi ghee.
  7. Serve hot Daal ke Duhley with chili sauce sauce.

Hi Nandini, don't you boil the dumplings before putting in the dal?
