ABOUT Lemon Rice RECIPE

Tangy lemon rice can be made very easily and is done in most of the south indian homes where rice is their staple dish.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 cups - cooked rice
  2. I - big lemon
  3. 2 tbsp - oil (preference sesame oil)
  4. 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  5. 1/2 tsp - urad dal
  6. 1/2 tsp - chana dal
  7. Asfoetida a pinch
  8. 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  9. 2 - green chilles (slit)
  10. 2 - whole red chilli
  11. Few cashew nuts
  12. Coriander and curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Take two cups of cooked rice. Add oil in a frying pan and heat.
  2. Add muatard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, asfoetida, red chiles, green chilli, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Stir and add turmeric powder, then add rice, salt and give a mix. Switch off the flame.
  3. Add lemon, juice adjust salt and add fried cashew nuts.
  4. Serve with papad or chips.
