An easy to cook prawn curry.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 kg Prawns, peeled and deveined
  2. 1 Large Onion, finely chopped
  3. 1 Large Tomato, chopped
  4. 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  6. 1 turmeric powder
  7. 1 tsp Red chili powder
  8. 1 tsp Garam masala
  9. 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  10. 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1 Sprig Curry leaves
  13. Pepper powder to taste
  14. 2 Green chilies

Instructions

  1. Take cleaned prawn in a bowl, add coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, turmeric, garam masala and red chilli powder in it and mix well. Let it sit for 10 mins.
  2. Now heat oil in a kadai. Add the marinated prawns and toss well in the oil. Let it cook for 5 to 7 mins till it is cooked, turns pink and curls. Remove the prawns alone in a bowl leaving any of the juices in the kadai. Let the juice bubble up and reduce for a couple of mins. Now add in cinnamon, fennel seeds and cook for a min.
  3. Add in onions, curry leaves and green chilli. Saute for 5 mins or so. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well for a min. Add salt and all the spices, mix well. Add tomatoes and cook covered for 5 mins or so on a low heat till it turns mushy.
  4. Now increase the heat and add some water and mix well.Cook this for a min.
  5. Add the cooked prawns and mix well. Cook for few minutes and take it off the heat.
  6. Enjoy with rice or chapati.

While marinating the prawns shouldn't we add little bit of salt for better taste
