ABOUT Cheesy Garlic Bread RECIPE

This homemade garlic bread is a real treat loaded with freshly crushed garlic,cheese and herbs challenging your taste buds to know what tastes better garlic, herbs or cheese. Though this is made from the scratch, nothing beats a delicious bake. All efforts definitely worth it.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/4 cup : Warm milk
  2. 1 tsp : Dry yeast
  3. 1 tbsp : Sugar
  4. 1/8 tsp : Salt
  5. 2 tsp : Garlic powder / freshly crushed garlic
  6. 3/4 tsp : Oregano
  7. 1 tsp : Unsalted butter, room temprature
  8. 1 cup : All purpose flour
  9. 2 tsp : Oil
  10. For garlic butter: 1/4 cup : Butter, melted
  11. 3 cloves : Garlic, finely chopped
  12. 2 tbsp : Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  13. 2 tsp : Parsley chopped
  14. 1/4 cup : All purpose flour for kneading and dusting
  15. 1/4 cup : Mozzerella cheese grated
  16. 2 tsp : chilli flakes
  17. 1 tsp : oregano
  18. 1 tsp : Mixed herbs

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add warm milk, sugar and yeast. Stir well and cover for five minutes to allow it to proof.
  2. In a separate bowl add flour, salt, garlic,oregano and stir with a fork.
  3. To the flour mix add the proofed yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough. Coat the dough with oil and set aside in a warm place covered, for an hour or more until doubled in volume.
  4. In a small bowl take butter,garlic, coriander and parsley leaves, Mix well into a paste and set ready.
  5. Punch out the air out from the proofed dough, knead for a minute dusting with dry flour if required. Dust the counter with dry flour and roll out the dough into 0.5 mm thick oval disc.
  6. Apply generous amount of garlic butter, sprinkle some of the chilli flakes,mixed herbs and top one half of the disc with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Fold the other half over the cheese half and bring their edges together. Press and seal their edges. Brush the top of the folded dough with garlic butter. Sprinkle red chilli flakes, mixed herbs etc according to preference.
  8. Make incisions over it as shown in picture to allow the steam to escape created while baking and also helps in cutting the bread after baking.
  9. Bake this in a preheated oven at 180℃ for 15 minutes or until golden.
  10. Slice and serve hot with garlic herb mayonnaise or dip of choice. Tastes divine as it is too.
