ABOUT Palak Paneer RECIPE

A tasty creamy Indian combination of paneer and spinach, really mouthwatering.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 Kg - Fresh green spinach
  2. 300 gm - paneer
  3. 1/2 Cup - Fresh cream
  4. 2 - Medium size onions, chopped
  5. 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  6. 1.5 inch - ginger piece paste
  7. 6 cloves - Garlic paste
  8. 2 tbsp - oil
  9. tomato puree - 3 tbsp
  10. 1 tbsp - ghee
  11. 3 - Cardamom, 1 inch - Cinnamon, 4-5 - cloves whole
  12. 1 tbsp - Garam masala powder
  13. Salt, sugar to taste
  14. 6 - Green chilies, chopped

Instructions

  1. Clean and boil the spinach leaves with salt.
  2. Strain the spinach and remove water. Grind to make a smooth paste in a mixer.
  3. Slice the paneer into very small cubes of 1.5 inch
  4. Heat the oil in a wok. Add ghee and the whole spices. After the spices are fried remove them.
  5. Add the onions and fry till golden. Add green chilies and ginger garlic paste.
  6. Add turmeric powder and fry. Now add tomato puree, sugar. Fry for a few minutes until the oil separates. Add spinach and salt and fry 2-3 min. Add a cup of water and bring to boil.
  7. Now add paneer cubes, cover and boil for 5 min on medium flame. Open the lid and add cream. Sprinkle garam masala, boil and stir for a minute.
  8. 11. Serve hot with roti or naan.
