Kulthi or Horse Gram is a lesser known dal in terms of cooking. In hindi it's known as Gahat, Muthira, Kulath or Kulthi. In Tamil its known as Kollu. Here is a very simple powder from Kulthi Dal mixed with other dals and chili to create a wonderful substitute for a full meal.This powder is added over plain rice and a small measure of Sesame Oil is added to enhance taste and texture.This can be had with papads, any curry or just served plain.
