ABOUT Green Chicken Korma RECIPE

Authentic Afghan style green chicken korma that is served with zeera rice or naan.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/2 kg - Washed and cleaned chicken pieces (with bones)
  2. 2 - Capsicum
  3. 7 tbsp - Cashews
  4. 4 - Green chilies
  5. Handful of Coriander leaves
  6. 1 tbsp - Ginger garlic paste
  7. 2 - Tez patta / bay leaf
  8. 1/2 - Dalchini stick
  9. 3-4 - Cloves
  10. 4 - Elaichi
  11. 1 tsp - Whole zeera
  12. 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  13. 1/4 tsp - Garam masala
  14. Oil as required
  15. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the chicken pieces and keep them ready.
  2. In a mixer grind together coriander leaves chilies, capsicum into paste. Grind cashew with 4 tbsp water.
  3. Heat oil in a wok add in Tez patta and all whole masala and saute then add the green paste and mix. Add cashew paste followed by 1/2 cup of water.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, all the spices and salt, mix for a minute then add the chicken pieces and mix. Let it cook, keeping eye on it.
  5. Once chicken is cooked and oil starts to separate, it's done and ready to serve.
