ABOUT Shahi Malpua RECIPE

Milk and cottage cheese pancakes soaked in sugar syrup.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. cottage cheese / paneer - 1 Cup
  2. Milk - 1 Cup
  3. Maida / All purpose flour - 2 tsp
  4. Cornflour - 2 tsp
  5. Sugar - 1 Cup
  6. Water - 1/2 Cup
  7. Cardamom - 2
  8. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Make a smooth paste of paneer and milk in a mixer.
  2. Add all purpose flour and cornflour in it. Mix well and make a batter without lumps.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan, pour the ready batter with the help of a spoon and make malpua.
  4. Meanwhile take sugar, water and cardamom powder in another pan cook it till it becomes a one string syrup.
  5. Fry the Malpua till crisp and golden brown.
  6. Soak the nicely browned malpuas in the sugar syrup for few minutes.
  7. For serving, sprinkle chopped almonds over malpua and serve. You can serve it with rabri too.
