Ingredients to make Kanda Poha

  • Flattened rice - 11/2 Cup
  • Large onion - 1, finely chopped
  • curry leaves - 12
  • peanuts - 2 tablespoons
  • oil - 1 tablespoon
  • salt as per your taste
  • cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric leaves - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Grated coconut for garnishing
  • coriander leaves finely chopped for garnishing
  • lemon juice - 1/4 teaspoon

How to make Kanda Poha

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it. When they crackle add onions,peanuts,salt and turmeric leaves.
  2. While the onions are cooking rinse the flattened rice in water till soft. Add the flattened rice and sauté for 2- 3 minutes.
  3. Switch off the flame and add the lemon juice. Garnish with grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves.
  4. Serve with hot tea.

My Tip:

Rinse the flattened rice till soft. You can also add vegetables of your choice.
