ABOUT pineapple chatni RECIPE

I have learnt this recipe from my mother. Thisrecipe uses the pineaple and turns it into a beautiful sweet & tangy chutney to be served as an accompaniment.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. pineapple - 1
  2. Sugar- 3/4th cup
  3. Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  4. Refined oil - 1/2 tabsp
  5. raisins - 1tabsp
  6. Ginger- 1 tabsp (chopped )
  7. salt - a Pinch
  8. Cherries - for garnishing


  1. Peel and cut pineapple into half.
  2. Take a spoon and scoop out the pulp, be careful and make that there are no thorns of the pineapple skin otherwise it might cause itching in the throat and mouth while eating.
  3. Heat little oil in a pan.
  4. Add mustard seeds, when it sizzles, add the grated ginger and pineapple pulp.
  5. Stir well. Now add salt , turmeric powder and raisins.
  6. Cook for 7 to 8 minutes.
  7. Once the pineapple is mushy enough, add the sugar.
  8. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
  9. Check for the sweetness and garnish with cherries.
