ABOUT Honey bee cake RECIPE

a bee hive yellow cake. A cute little yellow colored cake which can be made for kids on their birthdays.

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. Maida 1.5 cup
  2. sugar paste coloured or fondant [store bought]
  3. Oil 1/4 cup
  4. Eggs 2
  5. Sugar 1/2 cup
  6. Baking powder 1/2 tbsp
  7. baking soda 1/4 tbsp
  8. Pineapple essence [few drops]
  9. Whipped cream [as required]

Instructions

  1. Mix the sugar with oil to form a paste like mixture. now add the eggs one by one into the oil mix, whilst whisking it.
  2. Sieve in the maida, baking powder and baking soda into the above egg batter. fold it and then add the pineapple essence. Make sure that you do not overmix the batter.
  3. Pour this batter into a greased baking tray, bake this in a preheated oven at 170 degree celsius for 35-40 minutes. Let the cake get cooled on a wire rack. Once cold enough, de-mould.
  4. Cut layers of the cake, pipe whipped cream between the layers and form a stack. With the help of knife or baking tools, shape the cake like a bee hive.
  5. Now place the fondant over the cake and decorate it. Chill and serve after cutting the cake.
