ABOUT SCHEZWAN PRAWN FRIED RICE RECIPE

A quick recipe which is a treat to your eyes and indulgence for your taste buds . A simple work in the kitchen with minimum ingredients when you want that extra luxury . Couple it up with an Indo Chinese gravy and you are set for a Sunday Evening Meal at home on your couch. I think that is enough to get over the Monday Blues as you deserve a lazy Sunday.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Basmati Rice or Normal Rice cooked till 95% done
  2. 2 tbsp Oil
  3. 1 onion cut into julians
  4. 1 inch ginger chopped into fine slices
  5. 2 tsp garlic chopped
  6. 3 to 4 green chilies slit
  7. ½ cup green beans chopped
  8. ½ cup spring onions chopped
  9. ½ cup capsicum chopped
  10. 8 to 10 large prawns
  11. 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  12. 2 tbsp Schezwan sauce
  13. 1 tsp green chili sauce
  14. 1 tsp vinegar
  15. 1 tsp soy sauce
  16. 1 tsp fish sauce
  17. 2 tbsp oil for cooking
  18. 1 tbsp Butter
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Pepper powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Start with marinating prawns with mild salt and pepper.
  2. Heat butter in a pan and pan fry the prawns till they turn golden pink.
  3. Be careful not to overcook.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet. The rest of cooking needs to be done at high flame.
  5. Add ginger, garlic, green chilies, onions and cook on high till it turns pink.
  6. Add green beans, spring onions and stir everything so that nothing burns but still everything gets booked.
  7. Next add the capsicum and give a stir.
  8. Now is the time to add all the sauces, cooked rice and prawns.
  9. Mix everything gently.
  10. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  11. Schezwan Prawn Fried Rice is ready.
