Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Paneer 300 gms
  2. Tomato 2 large chopped
  3. Onions 2 , 1 chopped another 1 cut in half and peel the slices out
  4. ginger minced 1/2 tsp
  5. Kasuri methi 1 tsp
  6. Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp
  7. Khus khus 2 tbsp
  8. yoghurt 1/2 cup
  9. Green chilli 2
  10. Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp
  11. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  12. Salt
  13. oil

Instructions

  1. If using frozen paneer blanch them in hot water with salt for 10 mins , immerse them in water , when you are adding them only that time strain them and use , otherwise they will be hard
  2. Ignore this step , if you are using fresh paneer
  3. Now wash and chop tomato , onion
  4. Soak poppy seeds in 1/2 cup of warm water for 45 mins
  5. Whisk yoghurt and keep aside
  6. If you want you can fry paneer pieces lightly and then immerse again in water
  7. Heat oil , lightly saute onion cubes and some of the paneer cubes to garnish
  8. Keep them aside
  9. In the same pan heat oil again add chopped onion , ginger .
  10. Saute for 3_4 mins , add green chilli and tomatoes
  11. Saute until tomatoes are soft
  12. Remove in a plate and let them get cooled down
  13. Make a smooth paste with little water
  14. Now heat oil again , add turmeric powder , cumin powder , coriander powder , Chilli powder and the onion ginger and tomato paste
  15. Saute until oil separates from the masala
  16. Make khus khus paste with little water
  17. Add khus khus paste , saute for 2_3 mins in low heat
  18. Now add yoghurt , again mix and stir for 2_3 mins
  19. Add kasuri methi , saute for 2_3 mins in low heat
  20. Strain and add paneer pieces and salt, mix and saute for 3_4 mins , cover and cook for another 3_4 mins
  21. Add 1 cup warm water
  22. Boil the gravy for 10 mins in medium heat
  23. Switch off gas
  24. You can add 1/4 tsp Garam masala also
  25. Garnish with fried onion and paneer
  26. Serve hot with rice or chapati
