ABOUT Chole RECIPE

Chole is so popular in North India that probably every North Indian home has this on the menu once a week. So, this is my version of the same. Enjoy it with some pooris or roti, or some jeera rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup chickpeas soaked overnight
  2. Soda ¼ spoon
  3. Onion 2
  4. Tomato 2
  5. Ginger garlic paste ¼ spoon
  6. Green chilly 2
  7. Cinnamon sticks 1-2
  8. Salt according to taste
  9. Dry Red Chilly 1
  10. Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp
  11. Salt
  12. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  13. Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  14. Amchur powder - 1/4 th tsp
  15. Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  16. Malai ½ cup
  17. Refined oil

Instructions

  1. Put chickpeas in a cooker with ¹½ cup water and soda
  2. Switch off the flame after 2 whistles
  3. Cut onion and tomatoes
  4. Put in mixer
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and chillies
  6. Make a paste
  7. Add turmeric,salt,chilli powder,coriander powder,malai,garam masala and amchur powder
  8. Blend again
  9. Heat refined oil in a pan
  10. Add cinnamon sticks and dry chilly
  11. Add onion paste
  12. Saute till it leaves oil
  13. Add boiled chickpeas
  14. Add some water
  15. Mix well
  16. Serve with bhature
