ABOUT Fish in Musturd & Poppy seed gravy (Sorse Posto diye maacher jhaal) RECIPE

Hot and Tangy gravy of fish, absolutely yum to eat with some steamed rice.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Fish Rohu 1/2 kg
  2. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  3. Kalongi 1tsp
  4. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  5. salt as per taste
  6. Mustard seed 2tbsp
  7. Poppy seed 1tbsp
  8. Green chilli 1-2 no.
  9. Garlic 2-3 cloves
  10. sugar 1tsp
  11. 3 tbsp oil
  12. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Firstly Marinate fish with little salt and Turmeric powder and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Soak mustard seed and poppy seed in warm water and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes take a pan add 2 tbsp oil and fry the fish on low flame till 3/4 done.
  4. Meanwhile fish is frying make a paste of mustard ,poppy seed ,Green chilli and garlic and keep aside.
  5. After frying fish on the same pan tempered with kalongi and green chilli.
  6. Now add that paste ,salt,red chilli,sugar and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Add desired water as per the consistency required.
  8. When it comes to boil add fish and cook around 5-10 minutes till cook well.
  9. Garnish with green coriander and serve hot with steamed rice.
