ABOUT Chicken Keema RECIPE

Keema is a dish made from minced meat. The minced meat are cooked with flavorful aromatic spices with mild hotness. This recipe is a dry version.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken - 300 grams minced
  2. Oil - 3 tbsp 
  3. Bay leaf - 1 nos
  4. Cinnamon - small stick 
  5. Cloves - 2
  6. Cardamom - 2
  7. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  8. Onion - 1 large chopped finely
  9. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp 
  10. Green Chillies - 3 chopped finely
  11. Tomato - 1 chopped finely or pureed
  12. Chilly powder - 1 tbsp 
  13. Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp 
  14. Turmeric Powder  - 1 tsp 
  15. Cumin Powder  - 1 tsp 
  16. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tbsp 
  17. Meat masala - 1 tsp (Optional)
  18. Mint leaves - 8-10 leaves chopped 
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
  21. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add in bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, Cardamon and cumin seeds and let it crackle. 
  2. Add in onions, green chillies, salt and saute till onion turns soft. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min. 
  3. Add in spice powders, mix well and saute for a min. Add in tomatoes and cook till mushy.
  4. Add in chicken and mint leaves and toss nicely the minced chicken and the masalas.
  5. Cook till chicken is cooked completely which will take around 15-20 mins in low medium heat. Sprinkle little water at a time if required while cooking the chicken. 
  6. Add in coriander leaves, give a quick stir and take off the flame.
