ABOUT Radish dal RECIPE

The leafy part of the radish is used to make a delicious dal, which can be served with some steamed rice or some roti for everyday dinner.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chana dal [bengal gram] 1cup
  2. turmeric powder 1tsp
  3. Salt as per taste
  4. Hing [Asafoetida] 2 pinch
  5. Cumin seeds 1tsp
  6. Bay leaves 2
  7. Black pepper corns 8-10
  8. Whole dry red chilly 2
  9. Pepper Powder 1tsp
  10. Garam masala 1tsp
  11. Chopped tomato 1
  12. Boiled​ and chopped potato 1
  13. Green chili 1 chopped
  14. Mint leaves 4 for garnishing
  15. Lemon juice 1-2tsp according to your taste

Instructions

  1. First wash well and soak the chana dal. Chop the radish leaves and add to the dal, add turmeric powder and salt., cook everything in a pressure cooker till the dal is cooked or 3-4 whisteles are attained.
  2. Chop boiled potatoes, tomatoes, green chillies.
  3. In a wok heat ghee,add hing,jeera, black pepper corns ,bay leaves, dry red chilli.
  4. One by one add all veggies and add salt cook for two minutes.
  5. Add daal in it and then cook again for 5 minutes on a low flame.
  6. Add lemon juice and garam masala in it .pour it in a bowl Nd serve with roti or rice.
